Cindy retired after a 27 year career as a flight attendant with a major airline. About 3 years into retirement, despite traveling for leisure and attending hot air balloons events around the world, Cindy got bored and missed working with people. Since she was always assisting people she knew with travel plans, the natural thing to do was to take her knowledge and experience and expand her reach to assist people she didn’t yet know. That lead her to founding her travel planning business, International Accents Travel.
With her husband, Jerry, a retired International airline pilot and hot air balloon pilot by her side as her assistant, they launch their new business in June 2004. It was slow going at first, but has grown to include 2 additional independent consultants. Cindy’s specialty is planning customized trips for those who have done the usual ‘in-the-box’ trips and tours. With her vast knowledge of Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica and the Caribbean, and other destinations, she works closely with each client to design the exact trip they desire. Cindy has been traveling Internationally for 45 years so putting together a complex trip is no problem for her. Of course, she can also help those who have not traveled extensively to discover new exciting destinations by profiling each client to learn what they like to do and see and making recommendations specific for their travel. Cindy attends several travel forums yearly both domestically and internationally to meet suppliers, stay up to date with travel trends and continue her education in the travel industry. All of this information is shared with the team members allowing them to give clients a better and more complete plan.
